From The Garden

We have talked about putting in a garden ever since we moved into this house. Well, now with my new lifestyle changes in my eating habits, it looks like we might actually do it next year. Eating healthy is way more expensive than I thought.

Even without a garden, we try to plant at least one tomato plant in our flower bed. This year's choice is called Mr. Stripey! Ok, the guy that names these things should be slapped, but it turned out to be one fine line of tomato!

Here is the tomato uncut. The picture doesn't rally capture the fact that the coloring is all over the place, from yellow to orange to red. And, yes, this is a ripe one!

Then, when you cut this puppy in half, you can really see the colors inside.

In spite of the strange looks, this has to be one of the best tasting tomatoes I've ever had. Very sweet!

So next year, when y'all are looking to buy tomato plants, look for Mr. Stripey. He is well worth the effort of tending. Hopefully next year, there will be pictures of all of the good stuff right from our own garden.
